Prayer of the People
Let us bring our prayers before God, trusting in the promises of Christ, who calls us blessed and invites us to live as citizens of God's kingdom. Gracious God, we pray for Your Church throughout the world.
Make us poor in spirit, humble before Your grace, and faithful in our witness. Help us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness.
We pray for the nations of the world. Where there is conflict, bring peace. Where there is injustice, raise up those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Guide leaders to govern with wisdom, compassion, and integrity.
We pray for those who mourn today: those grieving the loss of loved ones, those carrying heavy burdens, and those whose hearts are broken. Surround them with Your comfort and remind them of Your abiding presence.
We pray for those who are poor, hungry, lonely, forgotten, or struggling with illness. Help us to be people of mercy, extending Christ's love through our words and actions.
We pray for our families, our congregation, and our community. Purify our hearts, deepen our faith, and make us peacemakers in a divided world. Teach us to reflect the character of Jesus in all that we do.
We remember especially those who suffer because of their faith and those who stand for truth and justice at great personal cost. Strengthen them with courage and fill them with the hope of Your eternal kingdom.
Holy God, shape us according to the Beatitudes. Make us humble, merciful, pure in heart, and hungry for righteousness, so that our lives may bear witness to the transforming love of Christ.
We offer these prayers in the name of Jesus, who taught us to pray:
The Lord’s Prayer: Our Creator who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen
